So it's February already! Seems like just yesterday was New Years Day! If you have seen my instagram page, you know I've been dibbling and dabbling with fasting here and there. I am turning the big 46 this year so I want it to be a little different than normal.
I went to the pharmacy today to hop on the scale and it told me I'm 225lbs with my clothes on. I'm pretty happy with that honestly because usually if I'm not monitoring the scale my body will stay comfortable at about 230-235lbs! So, honestly, I feel like I'm already ahead of the curve a bit. That said, the last time I was 215lbs was when I was personal training clients pretty much every day!
I've always liked anything under 215lbs on my frame so we are going to try to make it happen again! Are you interested in the protocol I will be using!? If so check out the video below!
It involves a mix of intermittent and one meal a day fasting while still working out!

I'm still on instagram so if you have any questions, need any support, or just want to say hi...I'm here!
If any of my old followers are still here, I want to say hello again! It's been a very long time...I know.
Sorry, Life happened. And when I say life happened, it happened in a major way! But that's neither here nor there. We are back now! If you haven't been on my instagram page, I would say go there. It's about the most up to date as far as what I am up to for now. But we will be trying to get consistent again.
MISIRUN Smart Watch - Full Touch Fitness Tracker with Heart Rate Monitor (Waterproof)
As you all know, I sometimes do product reviews in return for either a free product or a reduced price purchase. Here is an example of one of those product reviews but the opinions are my own. Today, I am reviewing this MISIRUN Smart Watch.
I must say, this watch looks leaps and bounds better than my old smart watch and honestly that was the thing that made me purchase it to begin with. The screen is very vibrant and has many screens and settings to choose from. I just got back from my trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida but I was scared to test whether or not it was water proof or not. Preparing to write this blog I noticed that the watch does claim to be water proof. They do warn not to use it in hot bath water though as this could damage the watch for some technical reason.
So far battery life is pretty good. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 so that is the phone I am using to connect to this watch.
Out of the box, you will have to assemble the wrist straps to the watch but it really wasn't that difficult of a task.
Check out my video below.
If you have any questions feel free to leave me a message and I will do my best to reply!
I must admit, I'm cheap! I don't like spending money on NATHAN ya hear me! That said, my wife wanted to buy a treadmill for the house and my immediate reaction was NO! We don't need it, I don't want it. We can run outside, we already have a spinning machine. This is an unnecessary purchase...She argued her point that running outside doesn't feel safe for her and after a little guilting I gave in.
We took to Amazon and she found an electric powered machine that looked fantastic. The price was decent and the reviews weren't too bad so we said ok, let's go far it! These days, I don't trust any new big dollar purchases so I bought the extended warranty as usual. A few days go buy and the big box turned up on my door step. I lug the thing inside and after I labor to put it all together (it was so heavy!) the freaking thing did not work! We call customer service, talk to amazon and they say the motor was bad!
How does a BRAND NEW MACHINE have a bad motor ALREADY!
We wrestled back and forth and finally got our refund.
Not discouraged we decide maybe a manual treadmill was a better option so we go back to intense research once again. After searching and searching we stumbled across the ASUNA 7700! This baby looks intimidating but set up was pretty minimal. Put a little lube on the tread and I was pretty much good to go. I think I needed to screw in the laptop holder as well.
First thing to note is the treadmill stays on incline! If you have ever worked out on a treadmill then you already know what walking on an incline feels like. Couple that with the fact that there is no motor. Hell, you are the motor. That means if you put effort into your walk, you will be sweating in minutes.
The initial reviews had us scared that my sons (6 and 9) would not be able to utilize the machine because of the effort required to move it but that was not the case. My 6 y.o religiously hops on and just starts sprinting randomly throughout the day. My oldest will even move the resistance to the highest level (8) and do a couple of runs at that setting.
As you can see from the photo above, it folds upright saving considerable space when not in use. However, you won't be putting this under the bed or anything. You can increase the incline but there is no way to make the treadmill flat unless you stack some books under it or something creative which I probably wouldn't advise.
PRICE?
So we bought our treadmill prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Because of COVID, dumbbells and homeworkout equipment became a rare commodity when the gyms closed. We bought out treadmill for under $800.00, I just check the price and it is now almost double what we paid. Again, a buy product of COVID or INFLATION...pick your reason.
Would I recommend it?
Like I said, this is one of the best pieces of equipment we have in the house. Your workouts will most likely be short and intense rather than long and low intensity. But you decide as you can easily throw on some headphones and just walk the incline for 30-45minutes. Trying to jog on this for 30 minutes will probably make your calves feel like they are going to fall off.
Well, thanks for reading! Feel free to let me know what you think. If you want to connect, you can find me on the following sites:
The return has been long overdue. I thought my blog was deleted and honestly forgot how to log back on here for a while. Not to mention work happens! I stepped out of the personal training realm and back into 9 to 5 world. Life has been good, but I do have a slight void.
I miss training other folks and training in general. I still workout but my consistency has not been there.
I've been fighting to drop my last 20lbs and it has been an up and down game. So my waiver has been between 214 and 230. Today is the day I am choosing to call my RESET! Yes, I have said that many times before but I need to get back to the cardio.
So here we are. Back on the grind. Cardio sucks but it is necessary. Lifting weights is fun but for me, it doesn't keep the weight off. In my old age, sprinting hurts and running for time hurts even worse.
Variety is the plain. Jumping Rope, spinbike, boxing, etc...If I can stay consistent results shall come.
So here we are...11.8.2020. I'll do a weight check in tomorrow (I think).
GOAL is to be at or under 205 by the end of December.
Hello again! It's been a super long time since I've been on here. If you are still checking in or if you are new to the site, Welcome or welcome back! I've been working a contract in my other line of work since about November of last year so that's why I have been awol. I'm going to do my best to start cranking out videos, and checking in a lil more regularly again. Trust me, I miss training you guys and gals immensely!
I was about a week away from restarting the group class at Walnut Square however after talking it over with my wife, I decided it was best I table that idea for the moment. We are both working a bunch of hours right now so that time block was one of the few times where we could spend family time together. It was a hard decision as I am truly passionate about training people and giving back however I believe it was the right decision as I have two young boys who can use their own bit of training as well.
That said, I'm going to try to give back in another way. As far as advice is concerned, I'm always an email, facebook messenger or instagram message away. In the meantime, I will be grinding on the low trying to get my "in shape" body back as well. Living on the road is fun, but the draw of fast food, and rich restaurant food is sometimes hard to resist. Thus eating good, ain't always good for the body :o)
Again, thanks for coming through! Don't be scared to say hello!

Here in New Orleans, the summers get hot and working out or cutting grass can be an intense sweat session. Luckily, with this instacool towel you can atleast keep your cool while being in the heat.
They claim it will stay cool for hours at a time! I have yet to put it to that extreme of a test but when I do I will update this review. It did come with a caribiner to attach to your keychain, pants loop or whatever else you may want to clamp it unto. Currently, it is retailing for $9.95 on amazon! It's lightweight, has a nice size and comes with it's own carrying case.

I have been needing a new pair of compression running tights for a while now. However, I am also on the cheap side (well I call it economic side). That said, when I got a chance to review these I was all for it.
Let's start with price: These are selling for $21.99 on amazon. I believe that is a fair price for them, if you have ever researched compression tights then you know they can range from $10-$100 dollars depending on the quality, name brand etc... While, I won't say these are the best compression shorts ever I do believe $21.99 is a good price for them.
Comfort: These are definitely comfortable and fit well. I like them, really nothing bad to say about them at this point. The Parateck men's compression shorts are made from 82% nylon and 18% spandex. The compression level is 18-25mmHG and they provide support and reduce the muscle fatigue and soreness of muscles.
They can be found here Parateck compression shorts if anyone is interested in getting a pair. I didn't want to take a picture in them as I did not want to expose myself but they fit like the ones in the amazon ad.
But to the seriousness, I received this product for free or at a reduced rate in return for this review. It is honest and my opinion of the mentioned above product.
I've been saying it over and over and I feel like I'm making excuses but I'm just so disappointed that my season opener was a skewed event. Anyone that knows anything about track knows that you want to get atleast a 30minute warmup in to make sure your body is primed to run as fast as possible. Truth be told, an hour warm up is more like normal for most people. But here I am, learning that the event schedule had been changed on the fly and the 100m is being contested pretty much ASAP. Due to time constraints this was pretty much the main race I wanted to run, yeah I was contemplating running the 400 also but honestly, NOBODY wants to run the 400 on purpose, especially if you haven't really been training for it. So for those 10 minutes I waivered between not running and running because hell, this was the reason why I came here right!
In my younger years, I'm sure I could hop out of the car and run 11 seconds with no problem. However, in these days I have some Achilles issues that require me to warm them up and hell, it just takes me an extra second to get going these days. Ah well, I went against my better judgement and ran anything. Not my best effort. But, I did finish healthy. No injuries and happy to get a competitive run under my belt. More to come! 12.33.
Want to upgrade your shower experience? You can for less than $20.00, well atleast before taxes and shipping and handling depending on if you have amazon prime or not. I received this rainfall shower head with individual swivel jets at a reduced rate in return for my review. When I saw the multiple shower heads I was immediately sold, and the chrome finish was just the icing on the cake. I am always looking for ways to upgrade the look of my bathroom without breaking the bank so this was a good fit.
Installation was very easy. It look longer to take the old shower head off than it did for me to install the new one. Best part is you can hand tighten it and walk away without having to worry about any leaking. Everything needed for installation was included inside of the packaging.
At the moment, I really have nothing bad to say. If something arises I will be sure to update my review but for now, ease of use, the look, and the price are all win-win in my book. So if you are in the market for a new shower head, do yourself a favor and check this one out!
What's up y'all. If you are reading this I want to say thank you for coming through. I've been pretty dormant lately when it comes to the blogging but I have been active in indeed.
Dr. Sebi Diet-
It's probably been about 2 months now since we have been doing the diet. My wife admittedly has been a little more steadfast on it than I am, but I have stuck to the major tenants of it for the most part. Specifically, not eating meat. I have been adding a little fish into my diet though and most weekends are the days where I will be eating either Drum or Red fish. Initially, I dropped down from like 208 to 194lbs. My weight has crept up a bit to a 200lb range but that in my opinion is due to the chips and chocolate candy, YES I DID SAY CANDY, that has been sneaking itself into my diet. Bad vices and a perfect illustration of how what you eat has a bigger effect on your weight than the amount of exercise you do. I say this because I am still getting my workouts in and haven't really slacked off in my opinion.
Master's Track and Field Training-
My first eye balled meet is about May 27th here in New Orleans. I am nervous and anxious at the same time. I haven't even touched my speed training but I have been feeling pretty good in my workouts. That said, the consistency that I feel is needed when it comes to track and field has definitely been lacking. As I train my clients 6-7 days a week, it is sometimes hard to find that time or energy or both to go to the track and get in a good 1-1.5 running workout. I have been getting my track days in about a good 1 or 2 days a week but I remember the days of 5-6 days a week so I am questioning whether my conditioning is at competition level sharpness. I guess time will tell but it is definitely ticking closer to the deadline.
Group Workouts-
My group workouts are still going strong. Monday and Wednesday at City Park for $8.00
and Tuesday and Thursdays are free. If you are interested feel free to give me a buzz or email beaucoupfit@gmail.com
One on One workouts-
I had been meeting a lot of my clients at Planet Fitness however they are getting pretty serious about not wanting independent trainers working in there spot these days. My work around had been to "workout" with the people I meet there as opposed to "training" them there but I feel my time over there may be coming to a head. I am still available for City Park, Walnut Square, Joe Brown Park and other locations but the Planet Fitness option is now basically off the table. Sorry for any inconvenience this may bring. But you have to be able to adapt as life sometimes works that way.
What's up everyone! I hope your New Year was a great one. Holidays are over and now it is time to get back to business. We are resuming group workouts again on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15pm.
The fee is FREE so you have no excuse not to come. Bring water, a can do attitude and a big towel and let's get it started. Need more details just shoot me an email beaucoupfit@gmail.com. Hope to see you in the mix.
Jumping rope is one of the most simple and effective ways to start working the weight off. Holiday time is here and it is easy to pack on a quick 10lbs just between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Years parties. That said, I have uploaded a quick 10 minute workout that you can follow along with. All you need is a jump rope but if you don't have one you can do jumping jacks and still reap the benefits of this workout. I have broken it down into ten 30 second rounds of work, with 30 seconds recovery between each round. This is a simple beginner to intermediate level workout.
If you want to crank up the intensity then change up the type of jumping you are doing. I will record a more intense jump rope workout in the very near future. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
Thanksgiving is over but the left overs are still here. I'm sure everyone ate and ate and ate but now it's time to get back on track atleast until Christmas is here! That said, Here is my video on the top 10 detox foods.
I have workouts almost 7 days a week so if you want to break a sweat feel free to contact me as well.
As you guys know, I do product reviews here and there. This is another example of such. Today's review is for the Guideline Pro Beard Liner Template. I'll keep this one short and simple.
Price- 12.99
Ease of use- Not too bad, but it is pretty awkard to hold a razor to your face and shave while holding the template in perfect position to keep your line straight. I did think it worked better with my electric razor though.
Quality of product- The template is made of a light flexible plastic. I did have an issue with the ink on the template disappearing though, probably from the oil or shaving cream dissolving it.
Would I buy it if it wasn't free- Hmm, it serves a purpose. Probably not though. Just being honest, I already free hand my beard and I feel like I still have to free hand at times even with the template. However, I've only used it about 3 times, maybe with more practice I will get better at it and appreciate it a bit more. If that is the case, I will update this statement.
Here is the product description per the company
